When I was a kid, my favorite pastime was sitting at our basement craft table for hours drawing “inventions.” I got to do this as a grown-up while studying industrial design.

I decided I wanted to pursue advertising when I realized I loved learning how to brand and market the products I designed, and deeply disliked CAD programs.

Problems I liked to solve at 10 years old:

  • How to make a tool that gets the perfect amount of maple syrup on each waffle bite (this solution was a robotic waffle-syrup dunking machine)

  • What the architecture of a submarine house would need (complete with a craft room of course)

Problems I like to solve now:

  • Finding the insightful ‘why’ of people's behaviors, emotions, or perceptions

  • Defining a meaningful target audience based on thoughtful research

  • Understanding how brands can speak to consumers in a compelling way
